We Visited Alice at Old Navy!

"Alice is doing great! She is eager to work, such a quick learner, and everyone here loves her! We are working on adapting some processes so she can keep learning new things."

Alice just celebrated six months in her position as an associate at Old Navy! Alice came to us in March seeking part-time paid employment. She was open to a wide variety of jobs: stocking, taking tickets, office work, etc. What was most important to Alice was a supportive employer who would demonstrate job responsibilities and remain accessible throughout her shift.

Our Job Developer met with multiple local businesses, but the fit was not quite right until we talked to Sarah, the Assistant Manager at Old Navy. Old Navy already promotes employment opportunity with the “This Way ONward” program which provides jobs to teens and young adults that face barriers to employment. We knew after speaking with Sarah that she would be a great supervisor for Alice (that’s why our face-to-face meetings with employers are so important!)

Alice told us that “Things are going really well at Old Navy. I really, really like Old Navy and everybody is so nice there.” Alice’s supervisor, Sarah, echoed the sentiment, saying “Alice is doing great, she is eager to work, such a quick learner, and everyone here loves her! She asks questions when she is unsure of things and takes feedback super well! We are working on adapting some processes so she can keep learning new things.”
