Disability Resource Summit For Businesses

The Disability Awareness Resource Team (DART) of West Michigan will be hosting a free virtual Disability Resource Summit for businesses on June 22 from 9-11 a.m.

The team created this summit to share suggestions to help create successful disability inclusion programs within businesses.

The Summit will begin with a panel discussion and then businesses will have the opportunity to choose from three different breakout rooms: Reasonable Accommodations, Disability Success in the Workplace or Talent Transportation Solutions.

This Summit is more timely than ever as the Bureau of Labor Statistics found that in 2020 only 17.9% of people with disabilities were employed. Hopefully, as businesses become more equipped to hire individuals with disabilities the statistics will increase.

Here at Beyond 26, we believe in the importance of providing meaningful employment and volunteer opportunities for adults with disabilities so they may develop their unique talents and reach their full potential. This DART conference is another helpful resource, specifically for businesses, who are looking to get involved and employ individuals with disabilities.
